Japan Box Office: Kyo Kara Ore Wa!! Live-Action Film Takes No.1 Spot with Strong 631 Million Yen


 

 

Following the well-received TV drama sequence aired in 2018, a live-action function movie adaptation of Hiroyuki Nishimori's faculty thug-themed comedy manga Kyo Kara Ore Wa!! was launched in 359 theaters throughout Japan on July 17, 2020, and simply took the No.1 spot with an enormous 631 million yen on the 486,000 ticket gross sales, beating final three weekends' champion Spirited Away.

 

The movie's first Saturday and Sunday gross was an enormous 229 % of that of the director Yuichi Fukuda's earlier movie Wotakoi: Love Is Exhausting for Otaku in February 2020.  

 

All the 18 primary solid members from the TV drama, together with Kento Kaku (31) as Takashi Mitsuhashi and Kentaro Ito (23) as Shinji Ito, reprised their roles. The TV drama's author/director Yuichi Fukuda, who has labored on many profitable live-action movie variations of in style Japanese manga, comparable to Gintama and The Disastrous Lifetime of Saiki Ok., was once more connected to the movie mission as director.
